MERU

Meriliis Rinne, known as MERU,

Her work has been exhibited in the UK and internationally including 58th Venice Biennale and Frieze art fair events in London with artist-led project Empire II.
She has been part of the TEDx Talks in UK 2014. Member of Art Society Soho and member of ArtCan- a growing art organisation for emerging contemporary artists.

Her creative method, regardless of the medium, is to uncover the tension behind the ideas she explores. Inspired by the human experience, she aims to transform "hate into love," echoing Louise Bourgeois, one of Meru's favorite artists. When a bee stings, it leaves its stinger behind and dies. Similarly, when we hurt others, a part of us also suffers. "This is why we must turn anger into love; otherwise, it will destroy us," the artist explains.
